This is the same attic fan in Wellington. Active type attic vent fans are over rated and almost always use more energy than they save. Most home ceilings are not properly sealed enough for these types of fans. Not only are you paying for the electricity to run the fans but even worse they normally draw the climate controlled air from the living quarters into the attic creating a vacuum that's filled with unconditioned air from the outside. The owner is probably better of that this one was improperly installed. Note the electrical conduit preventing the fan from running.
